Synopsis: Though globally there is a widespread acceptance and celebration of Gay Marriage with the USA Supreme Court recognising the free choice of an individual, in India it seems, it will take another generation for homosexual men and women to get their legitimate rights.Film makers are often the first soft targets to face censorship and oppression, but the film makers of DUNNO Y2, are thrilled that after a protracted battle with the censor board, that DUNNO Y2-LIFE IS A MOMENT is set to release on September 17, 2015.
Though it was an uphill battle, the film makers are ecstatic that it was a blessing in disguise since the release of DUNNO Y2, coincides with the release of highly anticipated Roland Emerich’s LGBT film ‘STONEWALL’ that kick-started the modern day gay movement. (The stonewall riots is often regarded as the birthplace of the LGBT movement.) The makers hope that DUNNO Y2 too will bring about a revolution for the homosexuality lifestyle amongst the 2.5 million LGBT closeted community in India. DUNNO Y2- LIFE IS A MOMENT is a film on equality rights. It conveys a message that love is above gender, race, religion or human boundaries. It is a film which celebrates human rights.
It is a love story between Aryan and Ashley, two boys. In Part One Dunno Y Na Jaane Kyun Aryan and Ashley fell in love, but it had a tragic ending. But Dunno Y2 Life Is a Moment has moved on to celebration. This film is mainly important for Human Rights worldwide, as this is the first Indian which will have two men getting married. Its becomes even more important, as one is a Pakistani Muslim and other Indian Hindu. If in India the conditions of LGBT rights are bad, in Pakistan it is worse. The film is set in Norway, where same sex marriage is legal from years. It is the first Indian-Norwegian collaboration film. It is an international film with international crew and actors.
The film stars Kapil Sharma, Yuvraaj Parashar, Zeenat Aman, Pakistani actress Meera, Sadia, a host of European actors, directed by Norwegian director Tonje Gjevjon and Indian director Sanjay Sharma. The sequel is a musical romantic comedy in three languages Hindi, English and Norwegian.
